Mobil SHC™ Aware™ family of EALs

EALs are generally developed from three base stocks: polyglycols, natural esters, and synthetic esters. Those formulated with synthetic esters combine a high viscosity index, a wide operating temperature range, good lubricity, excellent corrosion protection, and high oxidative stability. 

Mobil SHC™ Aware™ family of EALs are based on synthetic esters. These high-performance lubricants can:

• Help enhance equipment reliability and component life
• Potentially reduce maintenance costs

Compliance without compromise, including when the VGP is replace by the Vessel Incidental Discharge Act (VIDA), which is currency scheduled for fiscal year 2025.

Mobil Rarus™ 800 Series

Mobil Rarus™ 800 Series high-performance compressor oils are primarily intended for the lubrication of severe-duty main and emergency marine reciprocating air compressors. Their balanced formulation provides optimal wear protection and maximized component life. 

These lubricants can boost drain intervals up to 2,000 hours compared with 500 hours typical with mineral oil alternatives. 

Mobil Rarus™ 800 Series oils offer a range of advantage including:

• Outstanding resistance to anti wear and corrosion providing excellent equipment protection and helping enhance equipment life
• Resistance to oxidation and thermal degradation, helping reduce maintenance downtime and enable long oil life

Mobil Rarus™ 800 Series oils are compatible with seals made from fluorinated hydrocarbon, silicone, fluorosilicone, polysulfide, Vition, Teflon- and high nitrile Buna N NBR (above 36% acrylonitrile) materials.

Materials not recommended include low nitrile Bune N NBR (below 30% acrylonitrile), natural and butyl rubbers, Neoprene, polyacrylate, styrene/butadiene and chlorosulfonated polyethylene.
